I’m standing for Dunedin City Council to offer exactly that.
I am standing to offer leadership that is ready to go on day one.
Leadership that is willing and able to challenge the government’s reforms, and prepared to make decisions in the best long-term interests of our city.
Significant changes in the political landscape since last year’s local elections mean Dunedin needs experienced voices around the council table. Rates capping and regional re-organisation require robust, informed responses. This by-election matters.
Key dates.
From April 10th
If your enrolment details are up to date, your voting papers should start arriving in the post from April 10.
You can choose to post them back or drop them off at one of the orange bins across town.
Until May 11th
If your papers don’t show up, or you’ve moved house recently, or you still need to enrol, you can do so in person at the DCC office until May 11.
Just turn up, you don’t need to bring ID with you.
Midday, May 12th
Voting closes, which means you need to have either posted your papers back or dropped them off to one of the orange bins across town by then for your voice to count.

With nine years of service on the Dunedin City Council from 2013 to 2022, including three years as Mayor, Aaron brings a deep understanding of how council works, how decisions are made, and how to stand up for the long-term interests of the city. He is ready to contribute from day one.
Since leaving office, Aaron has continued to work at the coalface of projects centred around community wellbeing and resilience. His lifelong commitment to arts and culture continues.

Values that haven't changed.
Having previously been elected on a local Green Party ticket, I am standing in this by-election as an independent candidate.
My values remain the same. My commitment to the city is unchanged. I will continue to prioritise:
- Building stronger, more connected communities.
- Looking after our natural environment.
- Strengthening ties with mana whenua.
Acknowledging this moment.
This by-election follows the sudden passing of Councillor Jules Radich. My thoughts are with Pam, their whānau, and friends for whom this process will undoubtedly be difficult. I am standing with respect for those circumstances, and with a clear focus on serving Dunedin well.
